Year 6

Asia

For Science Week in Year 6 we are exploring Asia.

Physical Geography

At the start of Science Week we started by looking at the physical geography of our continent (Asia). We located all of the countries on a map before choosing a country, creating an information poster about this. We researched the location, the climate zone, how the country is at threat because of climate change as well as any natural disasters.

Biodiversity

We have explored the biodiversity in Asia, choosing an animal to create a fact file about. We researched fun facts, how they are under threat, why they matter and how we can help protect them. Take a look at our fabulous work!

Natural Disasters

We researched recent natural disasters in Asia. We looked at the damage caused and the current situation in the country affected.

Earthquake and Landslide Experiment

We had fun creating landslides and earthquakes with jelly. We created buildings with sticks and marshmallows and then tested to see whether they would survive in certain natural disasters.

Conservation Scientist Talk

We were lucky enough to listen to Chess, who answered many questions based on her job as a Conservation Scientist.
