Year 4

Oceania

In Year 4 we have been studying the continent of Oceania.

We started our week by looking at the human and physical features of Oceania including the climate and weather of different places of interest.

Take a look at our postcards!

Take a look at our impressionism inspired Coral Reef paintings

We have also been looking at the effects of climate change on coral reefs.

We created our own fact files about the Great Barrier Reef

We investigated the acidity of our oceans using cabbage pH indicator!

We tested different samples of ocean water and had to decide which samples would be safe for coral

We also observed the effects of ocean acidity on shells to understand how clams, oysters and sea snails are affected by climate change

We learned all about how humans in Oceania are affected by climate change and the rise in sea levels, particularly those who live on the Solomon Islands
