Year 1

Year 1 celebrated the 1970's from the Queen's reign. We looked at the different types of food that we ate, the music we listened to and the fashions that made the 1970's memorable.

We danced along to some of the music from the 70's on Just Dance. We saw some incredible moves!!

We watched some music videos. Here are The Bay city Rollers singing Bye Bye Baby.

Tie dye was very fashionable in the 1970's. We learnt how to create a tie dye t-shirt.

First we tied string around our t-shirts very tightly, to stop the dye getting onto some parts of the t-shirt.

We made some red, blue and yellow dye. Mrs Gatenby mixed it up for us. We had to add salt to make the dye stay on our t-shirts.

We stirred the dye VERY carefully!

Then we each picked up a t-shirt and put it into the dye.

Mrs Gatenby cut the string off and we clapped when we saw the fabulous patterns!!

Look at our washing line! We let the t-shirts dry before we put them on.
