NSPCC World Number Day 2024

We enjoyed celebrating World Number Day 2024! We all came to school dressed in an item of clothing with a number on and enjoyed taking part in different maths activities and investigations throughout the day. As part of Number Day we took part in a TT Rockstars competition as well as taking part in a whole campus 'Miles of Smiles.' Children made their predictions as to how far the miles would cover around the school and there was a special prize for the winner from each phase. Well done to Willow from Phase 1 and Dylan from Phase 2. Take a look at what each year group got up to throughout the day...

Nursery

We enjoyed lots of fun activities on 'World number day' - including our PE session, where we had to work as a team to get the correct number of people into a hoop.

Reception

We celebrated world number day by dressing up for digits and made a donation to wear an item of clothing with a number on it. We enjoyed lots of number based play in class.

Year 1

We enjoyed taking part in Number Day activities! We created number bond posters by drawing around our hands to make 10. We used the posters to help us work out number bonds to 10. We teamed up with a partner to make 20 and found number bonds using double the amount!

Year 3

On number day we enjoyed lots of number activities, dressing up in our numbers and playing bingo!

Year 4

We had a great day celebrating NSPCC's Number Day. We enjoyed the challenge of taking part in the TT Rockstars tournament as well as other number challenges throughout the day!

Year 5

We started the day off with the thrilling TTRockstars Challenge. At one point our class were the 5th highest in the North East. It was a great team effort and lots of fun.

We then used our knowledge of negative numbers to play a maths game called Connect Three. It was great fun trying to outwit our opponents.

Finally we used a range of mathematical skills and knowledge to help work out the distance our Miles of Smiles would stretch. A great day was had by all.

Year 6

For World Number Day, we all wore clothing with a number on to raise money for NSPCC. During the day, we took part in a TTRockstars competition, solved a maths murder mystery and completed a range of maths puzzles. We then took part in a whole campus Miles of Smiles event where we had to predict how many miles the smiles would reach.
