Safer Internet Day 2025
Our safeguarding superstars held an assembly to introduce the theme for this years Safer Internet day. The theme is ‘Too good to be true?’. This ensures children are learning to protect themselves and others from scams online. At Sea View we want to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children. The learning in classes this week can be seen below.
Reception
We explored how it might feel to be scammed online through a story. Our learning objective was to begin to understand that not everything online is true. After each part of the story was read aloud, children were asked to choose an emotion card they think the character from the story would be feeling. Children were keen to share their own experiences about being online whilst discussing what happened to Samira in the story, where we might see scams online and what Samira should remember in the future. If it was a negative emotion such as confused or scared we talked about what they could do, such as speak to a trusted adult.

Year 4
Year 4 took part in a live lesson in which we learnt about scammers, how to spot and avoid them. Inspired by this session we designed our own Anti- Scammer Superheroes and designed Comic Strips with helpful advice. We then used an AiTool to bring our superheroes to life.
