Understanding the World
At Sea View School, we believe that understanding the world is a vital part of our early years' education. Through exploration and observation, our Foundation Stage children dive into their community and beyond, learning about the people and places that shape their surroundings. From trips to local beach to visits from community members, every experience broadens their horizons and fuels their curiosity.
Whether it's examining the changing seasons or discovering the intricacies of different cultures, our little learners engage with the world in a way that's hands-on and fun. We encourage them to ask questions, share their ideas, and connect with their environment, fostering a sense of belonging and appreciation for the diversity around them. At Sea View School, we are committed to nurturing inquisitive minds ready to explore every corner of their physical and social world!
Nursery
Today at Forest School, we had a brilliant time learning about hedgehogs after reading "Don't Hog the Hedge!" We made our own hedgehogs and even created a cozy den for them to sleep in. The children were eager to explore the investigation basket, where we found various objects with bristles. They excitedly shared their thoughts, using descriptive words to discuss what the items were and how they could be used. It was wonderful to watch them engage and connect with nature, using their imagination and vocabulary to understand the world around them. What a fun day of discovery!
