At Sea View Primary, we recognise that personal, social, and emotional development (PSED) is a fundamental aspect of every child’s growth in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). By encouraging teamwork and collaborative play, we teach the importance of communication, sharing, and problem-solving in group contexts. Regular circle time sessions allow children to share their thoughts and feelings, while role-playing activities help them understand different perspectives and build empathy.

We celebrate each child’s individuality, providing tailored support to help them grow in confidence and resilience. Through both structured and spontaneous activities, our pupils learn to recognise their emotions and understand how their actions impact others

Nursery

In our recent sessions, we've been diving deep into the exciting theme of 'Wonderful Me'. We kicked things off by reading the delightful story, "It's Okay to Be Different", which sparked lovely conversations about what makes each of us special. We explored our unique traits and the incredible diversity within our group, highlighting how these differences contribute to who we are.

To make it more engaging, we rolled up our sleeves and got creative by making mirrors that reflected our individual styles and personalities. These activities really helped to boost our confidence and self-awareness. Each child had the opportunity to identify their own unique characteristics, celebrating everything that makes them, well, them!
