Year 3 GJ

WELCOME TO CLASS 3GJ

Welcome to Year 3, where we build on our learning, develop new skills and embrace exciting challenges together! Through our exciting cross-curricular topics, we make connections across subjects, explore new ideas and discover the world around us.

Stone age day

Year 3 travelled back in time to experience life in the Stone Age! As part of our History topic, we enjoyed an exciting Stone Age Day, bringing our learning to life through hands-on activities and exploring how people lived in the past.

Harvest Festival

Year 3 have been celebrating Harvest through a range of creative activities! We have written our own harvest poems, created beautiful artwork and proudly performed a special Harvest Assembly to share our learning with the school community.

Science

In Science, we create a fun and practical learning environment where pupils can explore, investigate and discover the world around them. Through exciting experiments and hands-on activities, children develop their curiosity, problem-solving skills and understanding of scientific concepts. We encourage every pupil to ask questions, think like a scientist and enjoy learning through discovery.

These are the key instant recall facts for Year 3's Maths.

World Book Day 2026

Glow in the dark cricket!

We are learning how to play the keyboard in our music lessons this term. We work in pairs to support each other with the guidance of our specialist music teacher.

Stone Age Survival Day

The children all had a fantastic time learning all about life in the stone age.  They made fire, explored artefacts and built shelters.

World Mental Health Day

We showed our support and raised awareness of mental health by wearing yellow today.  We practiced some breathing and mindfulness activities, sang songs, danced and chatted as well as pulling our best silly faces for the camera!

Happy Divali!

We completed our Divali celebrations today with some food sharing and tasting. We had guava juice for the first time and most of us thought it was delicious! We also tried rice, naan bread, poppadom, mango chutney and sweet melon.  We lit our diva lamps and listened to some traditional Hindu music while we shared our food.

Anti-Bullying Week 2025

We have had a fantastic start to anti-bullying week today. Following a fantastic assembly by our Safeguarding Superstars, we talked about why we were wearing odd socks and what it meant to be kind. The children all enjoyed showing off their odd socks!

Children in Need 2025 We had a great spotty day to show our support for Children in Need and had a lot of fun joining in with the Joe Wicks active challenge.
